|The Music of Lerner & Loewe
|Description: Subtitle: "...and Loewe
without Lerner... and Lerner without Loewe."
"CAMELOT. MY FAIR LADY. BRIGADOON. GIGI.
PAINT YOUR WAGON. We all know the legendary shows the team of Alan Jay
Lerner and Frederick Loewe created together. However, along with only
some of the hits that made the above scores so magical (it'd be
impossible to fit them all in!), Samantics presents your chance to hear
many of the team's lesser-known work, both with each other and with
other collaborators (including Loewe with Earle Crooker, and Lerner with
Andre Previn and Leonard Bernstein). Come hear Loewe's early work as a
German child prodigy, take in some of Lerner's work as a young Harvard
man, and hear selections from both the first two scores the team ever
did as well as the final collaboration between the two, a beautiful
adaptation of The Little Prince."
